I went to Northumbria University for my first degree, which is in Newcastle upon Tyne, and then I went to Newcastle University for my 2nd and 3rd degrees.

I work on a project researching Disability Inclusive Science Careers (DISC). The aim of DISC is to improve the recruitment, retention and progression of disabled scientists working, or hoping to work in universities in the UK.

My Typical Day:
I talk to disabled scientists and people who work in universities to understand how to make science departments more welcoming.

All my days are different. Sometimes I spend all day looking at my computer reading about disabled scientists and their work. Sometimes I speak to scientists about why there aren’t many disabled people working in universities and how we could make that better.
