I live and study in Oxford and find myself humming the Harry Potter theme song a lot, when walking around the town and colleges. Walking, cycling and running around Oxford’s many green areas is something I really enjoy, as well as experimenting with all sorts of bacterial and yeast cultures at home – you’d find a lot of organisms in the flat – sourdough starter, kombucha scoby(s) and water kefir grains, to name a few. What I don’t like to see around the house though is unnecessary plastic packaging and that is why I prefer to grow my own vegetables. So far this year I’ve only managed to doom the pumpkins and cucumbers by planting them out too soon 🙁

My Typical Day:
After I wake up, I like to do some yoga and meditation in the morning before cycling up the hill to the hospital. There I either work in the lab – processing samples & running experiments or I do some data analysis and read scientific papers. Usually, there are also many meetings to attend. In the evenings I like to go for a walk or a run, meet with friends, play the guitar or bake a cake.
