This will help you prepare for meeting the scientists.

    Read three scientists’ profiles in the Disease Detectives zone. Write down their names, their job and think of one question for each scientist. Ask your questions during the live chat (or through ASK if you can’t make the chat).

    Choose a short article or information page related to the scientists in the Disease Detectives Zone. Write some questions linked to the article you read. Ask the scientists your questions during the live chat (or through ASK if you can’t make the chat).

2️⃣ After your live chat

Choose one of the activities below.

  1. Disease Detectives Quiz [Doc]
    A multiple-choice quiz about the Disease Detectives Zone.
  2. Disease Detectives reporter [Doc]
    Write a one-page report on a topic of your choice. Highlight three key things you have learnt from the Disease Detectives Zone.

What do I have to do? [Doc]

Create a poster about how studying DNA can help us to understand and make new discoveries about disease.

Scientists from the Disease Detectives Zone will judge the entries!
They will be looking for:

  • Creativity
  • An engaging design
  • Interesting images (not just lots of text)
  • Something about how DNA is used in disease research
  • Something you learnt from the Disease Detectives Zone!

How to enter

Email your poster to your teacher, and they will send it on.

The winners and highly commended entries will be displayed on the Disease Detectives Zone page and the Wellcome Genome Campus Public engagement website.

The closing date for entries is 20th July 2020.
