Question: Do you think medical research is annoying because you never know if you're ever going to find out eg. the reason behind the disease and you're just working at the same thing every day
To me medical research can feel unbelievably sloooooowwww. We set out to cure a disease – that’s our overall aim, but before curing it you need to understand it a bit, and to do that you need to a hypothesis, a design to test that hypothesis – and we often have hypotheses within hypotheses. But in my better moments I stop thinking about how slow the progress is and think more about how amazing it is to be discovering things that NO-ONE else on the planet knows.

I think this is what makes research exciting! As it means that you actually have the opportunity to be the first person to find something out.
