Hi Ana, thanks for getting back to me with this question. An easy way to find ‘everyday chemicals’ is by checking the ingredients label on some really common household products. One of my favourites is called ‘methylchloroisothiazolinone’, which is often found in soaps and shampoos! It helps to kill most bacteria.

I am not 100% sure what your other question was – it may have been about antibiotics found in soil? If so, one of the most powerful antibiotics called ‘Vancomycin’ was first isolated in 1952 from a soil sample in Borneo! Vancomycin is referred to as an ‘antibiotic of last resort’ meaning it is only used when other antibiotics have failed, which can happen when bacteria develop resistance.
