Growing up my favourite lessons at school were all hands on: Music, P.E, and Science. My mum and dad used to home experiments with me and my sister when we were children and I loved that we spent time together doing this and how messy we got…..although my mum was not happy when one exploded all over the living room….after that we were moved outside. As I grew older my favourite tv shows were all science based (doctors, nurses, forensics, scientists) and I wanted to be like them. The more I began to learn about biology and chemistry the more I realsied I didn’t know and that no body in the world knows. I find this unknown really exciting and that I can start to unravel the worlds mysteries is amazing!!

I have always wanted to have a career which helped people who were sick. At school I really loved Biology and Chemistry and so I wanted to find a career where I could use these subjects to help. Being a scientist is great because you get to discover a lot of new facts about diseases which weren’t known before, and this can help new medicines to be discovered! Its also really fun to learn lots of different experiments, and each day is always different 🙂
